I spent two nights at the Red Ginger Chic Resort, which was a lovely hotel with a swim-up pool bar located in Ao Nang.

The journey to Krabi wasn’t a pleasant one; I had to take a ferry from Koh Phangan to Koh Samui, and then a flight from Koh Samui to Krabi with the world’s worst hangover – I couldn’t even keep water down! From Krabi airport, I picked up a minibus to take us to the Red Ginger Chic Resort hotel.

Just down the road from the hotel was Ao Nang beach, where I spent the evening walking along it whilst the tide was out, watching the little crabs scurrying along the sand thinking “this is why Krabi is called Crabby”. Lucy and I were waiting for the perfect sunset, but the clouds came along at the last minute to ruin it!

Dinner was at Wang Sai Seafood, which sold possibly the best prawns I had ever tasted! This was probably one of our most expensive meals in Thailand; approximately £10.00 each including soft drinks, but still very cheap compared to England! It was worth every penny.

We only had one full day in Krabi, and we spent it at Railay Beach. We booked a long tail boat booked through Wang Sai Travel to take us there, and spent most of the day at Phrangan Cave beach. If you’re a real adrenaline junkie you can do rock climbing, but we just stuck to swimming in the crystal clear water. You can also climb to a viewpoint and lagoon, but it was too slippery for us to do this due to prior rainfall.

Despite the beautiful bright blue skies, the rain followed us to Railay Beach! Luckily for us, we took a Thai massage during the short thunderstorm.

We then took the long tail boat back to Ao Nang where we spent the evening looking around the night markets before heading to bed.
